Type of art you're going to do:
And just to keep track of things.

Preferred Genre:
Please remember you'll have at least two and a half months to produce your artwork, however the piece of writing you will be expected to produce art for may be 20,000 words or more.  Give yourself enough time to read a novel and you'll do just fine :)

You choose your own fiction to work with and you can do as much or as little art as you want. If you want to illustrate every page, knock yourself out. If you just want to do a cover, same. :) You can also do a combination of a fanmix, fanvid and illustration.  Anything goes.

Author sign-ups close July 10th.  For more information on the schedule, go here

If you have any questions, please email novelbigbang.mods@gmail.com.

For the record; artists do not receive commissions, or get paid. We are a free collaboration. You do it for your own fun, just like the authors.

Hey guys we've barely had any sign-ups this year. Want to help out? Pimp this far and wide! Tumblr, your blogs, your LJs, everything. Just put up an ad. Not asking for much. We just could do with some more people!

If you're working with a partner, only one of you need to sign up, however you need to tell us both authors' names. Also, please have your co-author reply to the comment to confirm. Just because it makes our lives ten times easier.

Please, sign up in the comments using this form:

What I'm Going to Write About: [This doesn't have to be what you write about in the end, if you change your mind, it'd just be nice to have an idea of what people are writing.]
Genre: [Again, same]
Anything Special: [Kinks if it's erotica, anything else you want to be known.]

Author sign-ups close May 31st.  For more information on the schedule, go here.

August 25: Art rough drafts due
September 20: Posting begins

If you have any questions or comments, please send an email to novelbigbang.mods@gmail.com and a mod will answer you as soon as possible.

Last year we didn't have as much participation as we did in 2010 - let's try and get more participation this year, yeah?! Here's the pimpage code!

If anyone would like to design us a new banner and code with maybe a blurb or something, feel free!

Get it here:

Just so everyone knows - there won't be a 2011 masterlist. I cannot get LJ to cooperate with me and it managed to post all my HTML as a big block of text and then it deleted most of the fics on the list. So unless someone else wants to do a masterlist... there won't be one.

Title: Bright Lights
Author: rainbowstrlght
Artist: acidamoeba

Genre: Young Adult/Magical Realism
Warnings: Language, Anti-Religious, Talks of Suicide, Alcoholism, Abuse, and Vague Sexual References. Also written in first-person POV.
Summary: Nineteen-year-old Nova is unexpectedly hit by a car on her bike ride home from work. As if that weren't bad enough, she finds herself out-of-body and unable to get home. While reliving moments of her tragic life, she's accompanied by a really good-looking (if not incredibly neurotic) spirit guide, who must also come to grips with Nova's past. However things only become more complicated as they are followed by a dark spirit called The Chariot, trying to lure Nova to "hell", and an invisible spirit who remains unknown - and the story's narrator. How do all the pieces fit, and will Nova ever find where she belongs?
Disclaimer: While the Minnesota town I write about is real, none of the individuals or specific places I mention actually exist. Bummer.
Copyright Notice: I sadly spent many years writing this, so please don't steal it. That would piss me off.
Note: Many thanks go to carouselcycles, reezoo, lalazee, and nc_shy_gurl for their love and support. I about threw this out the window many times over the last few years, so they are all to blame for its eventual posting. Thanks, guys. ♥
